Derived from the Japanese practice of boroboro, meaning something tattered or repaired, boro refers to the practice of reworking and repairing textiles (often clothes or bedding) through piecing, patching and stitching, in order to extend their use. The Boro series takes its ethos and inspiration from Japanese indigo patchwork to celebrate the cracks and imperfect edges of ceramic ware as an opportunity of imbuing the object with new life.

Every piece is built by hand out of a specialized speckled porcelain unique to Studio JBLU. The clay's surface is softly textured and due to the inherent variation expected within clay, no two pieces are alike. There are no returns available at this time.
